PREDATOR HUNTING: CAMOUFLAGE
When you're hunting predators, keep in mind they have been able to adapt to survive in all 48 continental states for a reason. They are smart and opportunistic. Whether or not predators are color blind it will serve you better to try your best to blend in to your surroundings. In order to do this you will need to wear camouflage.
I know going out and buying all new camouflage is an expensive venture. For this reason I do not recommend anyone to do that. It really doesn’t matter whether or not your camo matches. I go out on numerous hunts where my pants and shirt don’t match but what they do is to help you blend in to your surroundings. If you set up against a tree or with a tree behind you any camo will work it doesn’t have to be the same color as the trees/grass around you. I have worn woodland camouflage on stands with nothing but tall grass with a few shrubs and have had pretty good success.
When you have your pants and shirt, now is the most important part. You will need a face mask and gloves. The idea here is to make sure you have no bare skin showing. Also be careful not to have lanyards with key rings or anything else that shines that may not be concealed.
All of my hunting clothes get washed with non-brightening, non-UV enhancing detergents too. It is proven that when you wash your hunting clothes in regular detergent and use fabric softener it makes your clothes turn blue. It can not be seen by the human eye and I hate to guess if predators can see it or not so I don’t give them the chance.
I will not argue with those that hunt predators and feel they don’t need camo but I will say I have had predators within touch and they were not sure what I was. I don’t feel this would have happened if I wasn’t wearing camo.
